Fractional COO

Jaison Thomas. Fractional COO.

Senior Operations Leadership. Without the Full-Time Cost.

Most manufacturing operations don't have a strategy problem. They have a gap between leadership decisions and floor execution.

I step in to find exactly where that gap is, fix it, and build the leadership behavior that keeps it fixed.

Sound Familiar

You know something is off. Here's what it looks like.

These aren't strategy failures. They're execution gaps. And they show up the same way in almost every operation.

Your metrics look fine on paper. The floor tells a different story.

Decisions made in the conference room never make it to the shift.

Your supervisors were never taught how to lead.

You're solving problems you solved six months ago.

Good people are leaving. You know why. You haven't fixed it yet.

You're still the person everyone calls when something breaks.

What I Do

This is not advisory from the outside.

I get into the operation. I'm in your leadership meetings, on your floor, and in the conversations your managers are avoiding. I find where execution is breaking down and fix it with your team, not for them.

The credibility to do this comes from having stood where your managers are standing. I've run hazardous chemical plants with full P&L responsibility. Managed food and beverage operations under FDA and OSHA requirements, reporting directly to the CEO. Your team knows the difference between someone who's been on the floor and someone who hasn't.

When I leave, the gap is closed and your leadership can maintain it without me.

Execution Gaps

Diagnose exactly where strategy is breaking down between leadership and the floor.

Leadership Development

Build manager and supervisor capability: the systems and behaviors, not just the skills.

Accountability Systems

Install accountability structures your team will actually follow, not just comply with.

Operational Efficiency

Reduce friction between shifts and departments. Translate strategy into direction the floor can execute.

Communication Frameworks

Fix how information flows up, down, and across the operation. Most problems live here.

Retention

Reduce turnover by fixing the direction, feedback, and ownership gaps that drive good people out.

SOPs & Procedures

Audit, rewrite, and install standard operating procedures your team actually follows, not just files away.

Safety Systems

Build safety accountability into daily operations. Not just compliance checks. Behavior change that sticks.

The Engagement

What working together actually looks like.

I work with a limited number of companies at a time. Every engagement follows the same three-phase structure.

01
Weeks 1–2

Discovery

I get into your operation before I say anything. Floor walks, leadership interviews, process observation. I'm building a picture of what's actually happening, not what people think is happening.

02
Weeks 3–8

Diagnosis & Plan

I show you exactly where the gaps are and what's causing them. Not a slide deck. A working plan with clear priorities, owners, and timelines your team agrees to.

03
Weeks 9–24+

Execution

We execute the plan together. I'm in the operation: running sessions, holding accountability, building the systems. The work ends when your team can sustain it without me.

Engagements typically run 90 days to 6 months depending on scope. Retainer options available for ongoing support.

Who This Is For

Built for owners and executives at smaller manufacturers.

This is for you if:

  • You own or lead a small to mid-size manufacturing operation
  • You need senior operations leadership but can't justify a full-time COO salary
  • Your managers are good people who need a stronger system around them
  • You're tired of being the person who has to fix everything
  • You want someone with real plant-floor credibility, not a slide deck
  • You're in manufacturing, chemicals, food and beverage, or industrial operations

This is not for you if:

  • You're not open to changes in how your leadership team operates
  • You're looking for a short-term fix with no intention of sustaining it
  • You're outside of manufacturing or industrial operations
  • You want a consultant who observes and reports without getting into the work

Why It Works

Your team knows who's actually been on the floor.

Consultants without operational backgrounds can diagnose. They can't always get buy-in. When I walk into a facility, the people on the floor know I've stood where they're standing. That changes every conversation.

I've managed hazardous chemical plants with full P&L responsibility. Run food and beverage operations under FDA and OSHA requirements, reporting directly to the CEO. Built accountability systems that worked because the teams believed in them, not just because leadership demanded them.

  • Director of Operations, FDA Regulated Facility, Reported to CEO
  • Plant Manager, Hazardous Chemical Manufacturing Facility
  • U.S. Air Force Veteran, Enlisted
  • MBA, Organizational Leadership
  • BS, Engineering, Industrial Technology
  • GE Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Yale Leadership Certificate
